I was running on very little sleep yesterday due to that really long response to vaccines, etc.  So as soon as I finished my tinies, I went to bed.  I didn't want to deal with the computer.  So I promise I made them yesterday.

In Response to a post on FB...

...about vaccinations causing autism in children.  This is really long...not quite rant.  It's not really angry, so you can't really call it a rant.  But it seriously irks me that so much misinformation has led so many people to believe that autism is caused by vaccinations or that vaccinating children is a bad idea.  That was a mini rant.  If you're willing to be here a while, read on.

I need to get a cat...

So I didn't make any tinies yesterday, thus the lack of post.  I had a very large chalk talk to do Monday and I spent the whole of Monday before the fact prepping.  Then orchestra, then lab meeting and streaking yeast.  Oh, and I decided to make muffins for lab meeting, too.  SO YUMMY!!

I want rugby for Christmas!  Or strawberries in my rugby game.  :D  The toes, as I was knitting the one with the red toe/heel/cuff, started looking like a strawberry, so that has inspired me with another set of tinies after I'm done with the rugby series.  We'll go with...strawberries, watermellon, raspberries, blackberries...umm...banana...what else?  Grapes.  Um...suggestions?

Cowl Mania

This weekend I procrastinated.  A lot.  And aside from tinies, I knit two cowls.  I'm putting three here because I had a third one lying around and it seemed sensible to group them.

I know I said I would make yesterday's pair today, but I have lost my knitting bag.  I think (hope) I lost it on the bus, but I don't know where it is... T-T SAD!  The yarn and my knitting needles are in it.  So...until I get it back, if I get it back, I will be half a sock short.

So...I'm sick.  Or seriously sleep deprived, but whatever it is, it presents itself as both.  I'm running on four hours of sleep and have had a headache on most of the right side of my head...  And I tried to eat dinner, but dinner revolted and escaped via the plumbing system.  I'm not sure if that's a symptom of the headache or not, but it was not very fun.  Not at all.

Some things before I start:

I just heard of this "Baby Joseph" deal in Canada and I was really interested to know what kind of neurological disease he has.  I want to know what the prognosis would be.  A lot of news sites are quoting the family as saying that Joseph could recover, but I can't validate that without the name of the disease to research!!  Grr!  I had to "like" the page on FB just to be able to ask there.  I wonder if I can "un-like" when someone answers my question...

I had something else I wanted to put here...but I forgot.  Maybe it will come to me.  Eh.

Here is sock. Sock is cute. Sock is fuzzy. Sock was knit with three diff yarns held together: bamboo, and two merino.  Thus the fuzzy.

Teeny Tiny Twenty-Six "Hidden Butterflies"

I mislabeled the previous one.  :P  So now they're all correct!  These are made with Plymouth Yarn's Jelly Bean in black.  I put a little butterfly stitch on them, but you can't see it because you can never see things like that in black.  I should stop doing cool things so you can't see them.  Silly me.  You can try if you like.  I took very close pictures for those of you who are interested enough.

Finished these while trying to sleep at the same time.  It was difficult.  Yeah.  But they're cute!

I got tired of doing just one color socks and I still have tons of that microspun stuff, so today is COLORWORK!  I grabbed the black and the red skeins and intended originally to do a cute heartsy pattern.  But then I wanted to do a snowflake.  In retrospect that was completely silly with the colors I was using...but you can be the judge of that.

I was being boring again today and picked the same grey microspun to use.  The pattern is different, though.  My mom got me a book of knitting stitches and I've been experimenting with those, so this is one of them!  YAY!

Tada!!  I did it (finally).  :D  And it turns out I had MORE Lion Brand MicroSpun.  This one's a pretty silvery grey/gray.

Teeny Tiny Twenty-One "Chunky-Spun" and a very slow day

I would say I had a debilitating headache this morning...but that would be a lie.  I just didn't want to get out of bed.  And I didn't.  Not until two.  But when I did get up I sewed the beginning of another punching bag and ran out of thread, discovered that I really needed to make six of these, not just three, and bought more fabric (not the thickest duck canvas, either, which is what I've been using; slightly thinner so less killing of machine).

I finished this one at eight today!  YAY!  I have also been working on those punching bags I'm making for a colleague and my sewing machine does NOT like them!  I have broken two needles and had to rip the bottom seam off three times because I couldn't figure it out.  I finally did, though and I have one completed.  All it needs now are grommets and pebbles.  :D

Yay tiny socks!  I know these look like another cheater yarn, but this stuff is a BITCH to knit with.  It's one of those bouclé things that has all the little loopies and they get stuck on your needles and confuse you and get tangled!  So there is no pattern in these today, but they are bigger to compensate and would probably actually fit a tiny foot!  Also the color is pretty!

I'm really cold and hungry!  I would also like to say that I am sick of bras at the moment!  For whatever reason mine have been giving me grief in the shoulder strap and on the back strap thing.  So you know what??  I'm not wearing one for a while!  You really didn't need to know that, did you?  Oh well.

Don't Try This in YOUR Lab!!

So after having driving the recruits around the city (it didn't help that I went to be around two the morning of and had to get up at seven thirty), I was very tired, but I still had to do a genomic DNA preparation from my yeast samples.

Hello all!

Pardon the lapse in blogging.  We had recruitment Monday and Tuesday, so I have been running on fumes.  I did manage to make a teeny tiny each of the days, but last night I was just so durn tired it was all I could do to stay awake while finishing up the sock.  Any longer and I would have died.

I forgot!  My wonderful W sent me a lovely bouquet of flowers today!  It took some figuring out to get them to me, but I am in possession of them now!  Aren't they beautiful?

Teeny Tiny #13 and the felted Purse

This is going to be short because I have to go to sleep so I can get up in the morning to learn to drive a 12-person van!  Today's are more Lion's Brand Micro Spun (almost the last, I have black, too) in a kind of periwinkle blue!  I did a kind of horseshoe cable kind of thing on them.

I'm tired. These are lilac lace weight yarn I found at Goodwill in a huge cone for three bucks.  I don't think I'll ever use the whole thing.  Whatev's.

Ten Tiny Dances and the Eleventh Teeny Tiny

I slept a lot today.  Definitely didn't get out of bed until noon.  I didn't set the alarm for that very reason.  And then I went erranding!  I went to Weaving Works to get a bit more Noro for the slippers and also got some bulky Lamb's Pride in a cool black heather kind of colorway for another pair of slippers.  These are going to be my new obsession.  :D
